(More customer reviews)I bought this pitcher a few months ago and have enjoyed it ever since. The pitcher is made out of thick, smooth plastic that is easy to clean. You can put it in the dishwasher as long as you put it in the top rack. The manufacturer cautions about using it in the microwave and adding boiling water.
I've used it for a variety of iced teas and appreciate the fact that the flavor of the teas does not sink into the plastic. Using it with hot (not boiling water) did not prove to be a problem for me. In fact, I was pleased by how fast the hot water cooled down once I put the pitcher in my refrigerator. It took about an two hours for the tea to chill without adding ice.
This pitcher is supposed to fit the 32oz. Perfect Tea Maker perfectly. I am not able to say whether or not it does because I own the 16oz. tea maker. To pour the brewed tea, I hold my tea maker on the lip of the pitcher and it pours easily.
The lid is the weakest part of the pitcher. It is not air-tight, and I experienced some spilling when I turned the pitcher onto its side over the sink. As long as nobody knocks it over, it will be fine. That said, I'm glad that this pitcher came with a lid because I can protect whatever I'm serving from the bugs if I decide to take it outside. Highly recommended.
