(More customer reviews)Jaffrey Cider Press I believed the advertisement about strong maple wood construction. However, on pressing the very first batch of apples, the cross members of the press cracked. My 10-year old grand daughter was turning the press when the cracking noise started. I thought it was just the pieces adjusting since the assembly holes are oversized for the bolts. However, with what I consider no more than normal pressure, both cross members cracked. Upon further inspection, the wood is very coarse grained and light weight so it is not the strong maple advertised. Buyer beware!
