(More customer reviews)Overall impression was that it was of fair quality, but unsuited to my needs. I have a lot of grapefruit to juice, and this is not a good tool for that job. The juicing dome, cup and presser cone were too small for all but the smallest grapefruit. Consequently, using this juicer left about 1/3 of the available juice behind. (I measured the volume the juicer squeezed out - then used a small electric juicer to extract the remaining juice. The first squeeze extracted about a cup. The second juicer extracted about half a cup.) Additional pressure did not help the situation because the part of the fruit with the juice was not getting pressed.
The results were much different with oranges. This press extracted virtually all of the available juice from medium-size oranges. Were I only dealing with small citrus, this press would probably have been quite satisfactory for moderate use.
I would characterize this as a satisfactory juicer for medium-sized oranges, lemons and limes for periodic use. It is not suitable for any but the smallest grapefruit, nor do I believe it would hold up under heavy use, but beyond its shortcomings as a grapefruit juicer, it may be all you need.

Harold Imports Chopstir Review

(More customer reviews)I received my Chop Stir just days before hosting a Mexican Fiesta/Holiday Party. It was the perfect utensil for almost everything on the menu. Chop Stir has the best design I have seen for what it is advertised for; chopping and cooking beef, but I found many other uses for it. The textured handle gives a good grip, it cleans really easy (dishwasher safe!) and because of the design, it chops without needed a ton of pressure and without damaging your pans. I used my Chop Stir to make the Taco Beef which worked great. Because it stirs as well, you can really cook everything evenly and mix in seasoning. I also used it to stir the Black Bean Queso Dip so the cheese wouldn't burn to the bottom of the pot.
It is versatile. You can use the Chop Stir for many non-heated dishes. It gave my famous Guacamole the perfect texture. It minced and mixed the yoke center of my Mexican Deviled Eggs to perfect smoothness. And for the Jersey Girl like me with long finger nails, it saved me from getting crusted meat under them as I mixed the pork and beef together to prepare the Chipotle Meatballs. The Chop Stir even worked to mulled the mint in for my Mojito Punch!
I highly recommend this tool. Add it to your collection of kitchen utensils, you won't be sorry.

Totally Bamboo NewBoo Lemon Reamer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this reamer from Amazon and have used it several times in the past month. Although, I think the size is ideal for lemons/limes, I have used to juice oranges. Works great and easy to clean. I don't have anything else to compare it to since I've never used any other reamers, but I would recommend to anyone looking to make fresh juice. It's small and easy to store. I can also see that item is very well made and probably last many years (5-10 years), so it is a bargin at this price. So far, I have not noticed any splintering. The only negative, is that it can be messy to jucie oranges using these kinds of reamers.

Norpro Stainless Steel Interchange Triple Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)I'll give it 5 stars for construction and finish, but only 1 star for design and functionality - that averages out to 3 stars. To put it bluntly, the darn thing just doesn't work very well.
The main problem is with the ribbed cones that are supposed to do the reaming and extract the juice - not only are the ribs too "dull", but the top is too rounded, so the fruit tends to slide off to the side when you push down on it, even if you twist at the same time. The unit is something of a "rattle-trap" as well - the cone sits loosely in the strainer, and the strainer sits loosely in the bowl, and even a slight misdirection of pressure can have unexpected consequences!
My old one-piece 69-cent plastic juicer, that I picked up at the supermarket, outperforms this thing by a wide margin. The plastic unit has sharp-edged ribs and a pointed tip, and extracts every last drop of juice with minimal effort. Guess I'll be sticking with that until something better comes along.

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, I actually bought this juicer before I read the reviews for this one (Power Juicer Pro) and the other J.LaLanne juicers (Power Juicer, Power Juicer Deluxe). I had wanted one for at least 15 years and put if off due to the cost. So now I have one, and I love it! Like I wrote, I read the reviews after I paid for it already. But alot of the negative reviews were so terribly written and most of the people couldn't even spell - I mean like the word "vegetable"! So I dismissed most of them as uninformed or lacking. And sure enough! If you read the owner's booklet, and use the product properly, you will not have any problems with it. Here are my responses to some of the problems listed by other reviews (this includes all J.LaLanne Power Juicer models):
"Strainer is plastic on the 'Pro'" - No, it isn't. Maybe it used to be when this review was written (?).
"I made 2 quarts of juice, then my juicer started leaking out the sides" - uhm, again if you read the booklet, you should only be making a couple of glasses at a time - one quart max. - then you will need to clean the strainer as the pulp will clog up the strainer and cause juice to back up into the machine. This juicer is not designed to hold liquid.
"The motor shaft sheared off when I tightened the blade onto it". The booklet states to be careful when tightening on the blade as this can cause the shaft to shear. This may be a legitimate problem with the product and this shaft ShouLD be metal, not plastic. So far, I have had no problems, and am very careful not to tighten too hard.
"I put in radishes and they blew out the pulp chute". The booklet states to follow small items immediately with larger ones to keep this from happening. I have not had a problem with small items such as radishes.
"The spout leaks all over the place". Again, I have had no problems with the spout.
"It is hard to clean and the little brush they give you does nothing". This product is EXTREMELY easy to clean. The brush works very well on the strainer. A power water sprayer also works wonders. Additional advice is to clean right after juicing, or right after you enjoy your juice. Naturally, if you let the juicer sit uncleaned, the pulp and juice residue will get dry and hard and be difficult to get off. If you clean it right away, it is a breeze and shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to clean the five pieces.
This juicer also comes with two juice recipe books and one juice and pulp recipe book (muffins, soups, and such).

(More customer reviews)This item is not the size advertised! It's only 2 1/4 Gallons. Also the spigot on this thing is plastic and cheap! It only drizzles out the fluids and a very slow rate. I don't think this unit is worth the $74. It's easy to be fooled by its size unless you actually check it for yourself like I did, that's probably why the other people rated this product well, but I was really upset and had to return it for this reason. I was hoping the spigot was going to be made of metal and was quite surprised that it wasn't. I hope this helps. Possibly they sent me the wrong one but I checked for around a 2 1/4 gallon size one on Amazon and couldn't find it. The description needs to be fixed on this item!

Imusa Lime Squeezer, Green Review

I'm not so strong that I should be able to break such a device (and what good is a squeezer you can't squeeze?). I also found that the receiver was a little small -- normal-sized limes were a bit bigger than the receiver. Looks like I'll be ordering a different model, as this isn't worth returning.

Desolv It Citrus Solution 12 oz Review

(More customer reviews)De-Solv-It by Orange Sol removes sticky-icky stuff from surfaces, hair, skin, and clothing with relative ease. Gooey residue that would otherwise take a lot of time and elbow grease, if it could be removed at all, disappears with De-Solv-It and minimal scrubbing. I use it mostly to remove stickers, but it's also great for sap, gum, and any kind of adhesive residue. It works well to remove stickers from books and book jackets as long as the jacket is slick, not porous. I spray a little De-Solv-It on a paper towel and apply to the sticky scum. I wouldn't spray De-Solv-It directly onto paper, even if its coated, because De-Solv-It is oily and will stain paper if it's allowed to soak in.
Orange Solvent, the predecessor to De-Solv-It, was created in 1932 by Edwin L. Ackerman after he accidentally discovered that orange juice would remove stubborn dental impression cement from his hands. Thus citrus-based cleaners were born. Orange Sol claims that De-Solv-It works well on most kinds of stains, not just sticky stuff, including protein stains, grease, and food. I haven't tried it on food stains, as my normal laundry spot spray works on those. Ouixtar's (Amway) Tri-Zyme is hands-down the best thing on protein stains, including very old stains. De-Solv-It probably is good on grease. It was popular with people who worked on the Exxon Valdese oil spill in Alaska.
De-Solv-It is unfortunately no longer available in a squirt bottle. It comes in a 12.6 fl.oz. spray bottle. This is fine for those using it to treat laundry or large areas, but I have to spray it onto a paper towel to use it on a small area. And I really don't want this stuff to spray all over the place. There is a warning on the back of the bottle against using it on carpet backing, acrylic, some plastics, uncoated paper, suede & leather, silk, elastic, and khaki-colored fabric. But just a droplet of De-Solv-It will ruin modern furniture finishes, the kind that are applied by the manufacturer in either matte or glossy. So keep the spray bottle clear of any furnishings or wood decor that has a permanent finish.
De-Solv-It is biodegradable and emits no toxic fumes, so this is an environmentally-friendly and human-friendly product. It has a light citrus scent. Essential citrus oils, vitamin E, aloe vera, and organic wetting agents are among the ingredients. It contains no water, so this is not a diluted cleaner, and there is never any need to dilute it. You can set the nozzle to "spray", "stream", or "off". The packaging and inadequate warnings are my only reservation. Keeping that in mind, De-Solv-It makes quick work of sticky stuff.
